Dear Sir or Madam:
i am contacting your company in regards to your software NetDetective. I have known of the software for a few years now. I personally see nothing special about the software. From what I can gather from the screenshots, it is nothing more than a database of public resources (most of which can be sought on the Internet for free).
I have looked over claims made on your website as well as features your company boasts about. I have noticed that your company only tells people the partial story (if the whole story were told, then you would not sell the software). I personally consider that deceptive trade practices, but I am sure that your company has gotten away with it in the past on "technicalities".
I have a few questions in regards to features of the program and claims made on your site. On my website (knownothing.net), I have a report typed up (www.knownothing.net/reports/netdetective.html), which pretty much sums up the "features" that you list. I explain to people the real deal about what is going on.
Furthermore, can you give me any information on the NAIPI? By using that as a boast claim, you make it sound as if your software is endorsed by a full-fledged "private investigator" organization. From what I know, your company created NAIPI. I have searched the Internet quite a bit. The ONLY reference I have found of "NAIPI" is on advertisements on the numerous domains created to advertise your software.
I do recall a couple years or so back finally stumbling upon the "NAIPI website". It was part of jeanharris.com. Now jeanharris.com forwards to harrisdigitalpublishing.com. I have found not one private investigator organizations truly promote your product or even mention the NAIPI.
Another issue is the claim of "Relied upon by hundreds of LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES." Why would they need your software? They have access to the NCIC and various other government agencies. I am requesting a list of the "law enforcement agencies" which use your software.
I look forward to your response in this matter.
