Dear Mr. Hillebran:

Thanks for writing!  I'm in receipt of your letter regarding the Net Detective program dated August 27th, 2004.  The letter indicates that you have previously written to Cyberspace to Paradise but received no response.  Let's work together to clear up any misunderstandings.  In this email I'll cover the following topics:
1.  The apparent lack of response
2.  The advantages of consulting our support site
3.  The program you inquired about and our policies regarding it

First, let me apologize for any apparent lack of response.  This is the first time I've read your correspondence, perhaps because your letter was just now forwarded from a private residence to our corporate office where I am employed (1392 S. Woodland Blvd.).  The netdetective2001.com website you reference in your letter contains only the Woodland Boulevard address.  Further, our customers are furnished with a support website which contains a support form to contact an agent.  It appears that you have never actually purchased Net Detective, so I wonder if perhaps you emailed an old address that is no longer furnished to customers rather than using the support website (www.harrisdigitalsupport.com).

Ironically, the support website contains answers to many of the questions in your letter.  Its intended purpose is to allow interested parties to learn about our products and get support at any hour of the day.  I encourage you to visit the site as a first step in learning more about our company and products.  In particular, the section called "Why do I need Net Detective?" is enlightening (http://www.harrisdigitalsupport.com/dss/why.html).

Not only does Net Detective offer links to information, but investigational instruction and a large proprietary database as well.  Net Detective's roots were groundbreaking in the mid-1990s.  Here, for the first time, was a program that offered people a quick consolidation of information sources on the emerging internet.  The program grew to keep up with the times, and eventually incorporated the proprietary data.  Our corporate officers have found innovative ways to procure data of interest to our customers and incorporate it in a simple, quick search.  In addition, the original links feature, while not the main feature of the program, continues to provide users with a value-added solution for finding data.  Sure, you can Google a lot of information nowadays, but our customers continue to find value in the entire package.

Net Detective has sold over a million copies, so like many companies with a mass audience we generate our share of complaints as evidenced by letters to the Better Business Bureau, Ripoff Report, etc.  Let's face it:  we're working in a market that tries to be all things to all people.  Usually the information a person seeks costs much more.  Net Detective's $29 price point allows the user to do their own research at a fraction of the price of hiring an investigator or background check service.  Those who truly find "Googling" easy probably won't purchase Net Detective in the first place.  We generally find that our money-back guarantee satisfies the portion of our customers that still didn't find what they wanted.  The "pattern of complaints" we observe typically originates from users who miss the fact that they play a part in reading the program information that tells how to conduct an investigation on their own, and thus, find out just about anything.  A "push this button to do it all" program would cost much more, if it is even feasible.

Again, thank you for writing, and for your readers here is some key information on Net Detective:
